Mini Season: Love Hurts Challenges and Guides

The Love Hurts Mini Season is a limited-time event in Fallout 76.
Running from 3rd February 2026 to 17th February 2026 at 12 PM US EST (at Atom Shop changeover), players can claim the Tough Love Helmet for free from the Mini Seasons Board.
To participate, head to an Armor Workbench, craft the Tough Love Helmet, and equip it on your character. Then, complete the listed challenges to earn exclusive, limited-time rewards.
How it works:
Complete each challenge to earn tickets, which can then be used to purchase the rewards of your choice from the limited-time reward board. This system works similarly to the current Season structure.
At the time of publishing this guide, the exact number of tickets awarded per challenge—and the ticket cost of each reward—has not yet been confirmed.

Can we re-roll the challenges?
No.
Can I complete these challenges on a custom server?
No.
Can I complete these challenges on a private server, by myself, if I create a public team?
Yes.
Can I complete these challenges in one day?
Yes, all the challenges for the week will be released on the first day, allowing you a week to complete them.
Can I wear Power Armor while completing these challenges?
Yes! — The challenge has been updated so that as long as you have the hat equipped, it will count. This means you can now complete the challenge without exiting Power Armor or removing your helmet.
Can I still get intoxicated if I am a Ghoul?
Yes, you can.
Can I complete the challenges on different characters?
Yes. As long as you are on the same account and the character has the required item equipped, you can spread the challenges across multiple characters.
Why can’t I lock the rewards when I have enough tickets?
You need to claim and unlock rewards in a specific order; you can’t just pick and choose which ones to claim. If you hover over a reward, it will show you which items you need to claim first before it becomes available.

Week 1
Challenge 1: Travel on Foot while wearing the Tough Love Helmet (0/15)
Pick a train station and just follow the train tracks to the next station, or the next, until you hit the 15. You will likely complete the 15 by just walking around and farming for the flowers as well.
Challenge 2: Collect a Toxic Soot Flower while wearing the Tough Love Helmet (0/25)

Personally, I fast-traveled to Knife Edge in the Toxic Valley and walked west in a straight line until I got to Wavy Willard’s. There were more than enough spawns to get the 25.
Challenge 3: Collect Med-X while wearing the Tough Love Helmet (0/10)
Removing 10 Med-X from your Aid Stash Box counts towards this challenge.
Note that if you put the Med-X into the stash box and try to remove them while on the same server, it will not count. You will need to put them into the Aid Stash Box, then server hop or go back to the main menu and load in again. After that, remove them, and they will count towards the challenge.
Alternatively, you can purchase them from NPC vendors or obtain them from resource producers. You can also occasionally find them in chem first aid boxes in the game world.
Challenge 4: Collect a Bag of Chlorine while wearing the Tough Love Helmet (0/8)

There are 32 bags of chlorine per server, plus 6 bags can be found in the Town Hall in Atlantic City. Select the Flooded City Expo or the travel to district option.
Once inside the Town Hall, stand with your back directly in front of the mayor and walk straight forward. The bags will be on the metal shelves against the wall in front of you, between the two doorways.
The Pitt has a total of 8 spawns between the Foundry and the Industrial area. Maps for each location can be found here.
Challenge 5: Scrap Junk to Produce Steel while wearing the Tough Love Helmet (0/50)
Go and pickpocket some Super Mutants and scrap their weapons, or make bulk steel on the Tinker’s Bench and scrap it for it to count towards the challenge.
Challenge 6: Craft a Psycho while wearing the Tough Love Helmet (0/10)
Make sure you have the Super Duper and Chemist perk cards equipped while crafting.

Note that Pitcher Plants are a per-server spawn, so I would advise farming them on a private server. If they gas you in the face, they cannot be looted, as this triggers the per-server spawn, and that plant cannot be harvested again on that server.
