If the baseball bat is not the colour you are looking for, DO NOT pick it up. If you leave it then you can server-hop and check them all again.
This is not an efficient way to farm baseball bats. There is a 2% chance that the baseball will spawn as a modded bat and then a 9% chance of that modded bat being one of the three rare colours. That's a 1 in 555 chance of finding a rare coloured bat using this method.
However, a lot of these bats spawn in locations such as daily ops and pip boy dailys. So if you are in the area, then it is worth taking a few extra seconds to run over and check the baseball bat spawn.

From the fast travel point, face North and follow the road down, past the logging trucks until you get to the red gate. Open the gate (button is on the left-hand side) and enter the compound. If you look NNW, you will see a red water tower in the distance. Head towards the red tower and stop at the yellow digger/tractor. Turn and face West and walk up the wooden ramp. Keep walking straight and you still see the baseball bat on the green table in the corner of the shack.

Walk straight, along the road and under the covered bridge. Keep following the road under you get to the logging truck. At the logging truck, look for the red toolbox on the ground. Stand on top of the red toolbox and face NE. Walk forward in a very straight line until you see a dog house with a skeleton on top of it.

From the fast travel point, face West. Walk between the house and the garage, still facing West and you will see 2 dead NPCs behind the house with the baseball bat.

From the fast travel point, head South-ish and follow the road along until the second entrance of the cemetery (next to the small brick building), face East at the second entrance, and walk straight towards the small shed at the back of the Cemetery. Check the Tombstones on your left as you walk up towards the shed. The baseball bat is leaning against a tombstone with a baseball glove next to it.

From the fast travel point, follow the road East. Just past the red bridge is a makeshift tent camp on your right. When facing the tent camp, head to the very last tent on your left at the back. Behind the tent, the baseball bat is lying on the ground next to a pile of wood.

From the fast travel point, head to the Manor and walk through the front door. From inside the front door, walk straight and head up the stairs to the second floor. At the top of the stairs turn right then walk straight down the corridor until you get to the third door on your right. Enter the room with all the bunk beds and look West for the terminal in the far corner. The baseball bat is leaning against the wall next to the terminal and the suitcase.

From the fast travel point, turn right and walk forward until you have crossed the river and are standing on the road on the other side. Turn to face southwest and follow the road down past the houses until you get to the tents. Just before the second tent on the road, the baseball bat will be on the ground in front of you, next to a red motorbike.

From the fast travel point, turn and walk up the stairs on your left. At the fourth lamp post, turn and face directly South and walk up the hill. At the top of the hill, turn West and you will see a small shed between some trees. Inside the shed, the baseball bat will be leaning against the right wall.

From the fast travel point, turn and face West. You will see a Red Rocket in the distance, between a blue house and a white brick building. Walk to the Red Rocket and stand facing the front door. Turn and walk North, jump over the railing, and keep heading North until you hit a fence. Turn left and you will see a ute/truck in front of you. The baseball bat will be in the back of the ute/truck.

Enter the Overseer's house through the front door. Once inside, face East and walk up the stairs. Turn right, walk forward, and enter the bedroom on your right. Stand on the bed and face East. The baseball bat will be on the top shelf.

From the baseball bat location above; Exit the bathroom and enter the white double doors on your right. Facing West, there is a blue door in the far western corner of the gym. Enter the room through the blue door and the baseball bat will be leaning against the lockers.

Face South and keep walking straight until you see the Bank building at the end of the road. On your right, on the corner is a Bar. Enter the bar and on the top floor, behind the bar is the baseball bat.

From the fast travel point, follow the tracks East, past the train station, until you get to the "Not a public crossing" sign. Turn and face North, walking between the houses and jumping the fence. Keep walking straight, past the blue trash can until you get to the corner of the street. There should be a lamp pole lying on top of a car on your right. From the corner of the street, turn slightly left and you should see the "Visitor Centre" building and sign on the other side of the street. Enter the visitor's center through the double doors and take the doorway on your right. Go up the stairs and the baseball bat will be on top of the bookcase behind the first desk on your left at the top of the stairs.

Once inside the High School, turn right and follow the corridor all the way to the end. On your left is a hole in the wall, walk through and continue walking towards the blue double doors directly in front of you. Open the doors and the baseball bat is on your right on the shelf.

From the fast travel point, face East and walk behind the Train Station until you get to the road. Follow the road North East, past the church until you get to a tree resting against a building. Follow the tree up with your eyes and look for a waffle sign. Next to the Waffle sign is a hole in the wall. Either use the tree to climb up or just jump and enter the hole in the wall. The baseball bat will be lying against the bathtub, in the bathroom, on your left.

From the fast travel point, follow the road East and keep following it around until you are inside the prison yard, next to the big red truck. Keep walking forward until you hit a chicken wire/chain link fence. Turn left and you will see a thick concrete wall with a water fountain a few feet in front of you. Stand next to the water fountain and look South. The baseball bat is leaning against the wall next to a headless skeleton.

Freddy Fear's House of Scares/Red Rocket Mega Stop
Location:
Fast travel to Freddy Fear's House of Scares and run up the road to the Red Rocket Mega Stop. Head towards the big Red Rocket sign and stand next to the white icebox that is under the sign. Turn and face East. In front of you is a grey car and then some fuel bowsers and then a black car. The baseball bat is on the back seat of the black car.

Assuming you have entered the vault and are standing in the lobby with two corn plants and an orange cart in front of you. Turn slightly left and head towards and down the set of stairs. Run straight through the next room, take the stairs on your right, and go down one flight of stairs. At the bottom of the stairs, turn and face West, walking forward, through the gap in the railing and dropping down to the floor level. You should now be standing in the Atrium.
From the Atrium, staying on the ground floor, turn and head towards the far West corner of the room. Enter the doorway marked Greenhouses. The first door on your right and the baseball bat is leaning against the couch.

You will need to place a map marker for this one. Fast travel to Hopewell Cave. Face East and run forward for a few minutes. You can run around or jump over the rocks, just stay in a general East direction. You will notice a yellow NPC marker/dot appear on your HUD. A NPC always spawns at the cabin so head in that direction. As you get closer to the top of the hill you will see two big trees next to each other and the cabin next to that. The baseball bat is inside the cabin, on the floor just inside the door next to the end table.

From the fast travel point, turn and face East. Keep walking straight East for a little while. If you pass a small campsite on your left then you are going in the right direction. Keep walking East past the campsite and drop down 4 ledges. On the 4th ledge, turn North and walk forward. The baseball bat is next to the skeleton on the rock edge.

Turn right onto "Church St" (the street on your right just past the church) and follow the road down until you see a blue ute/truck. Turn and face East, and walk between the house and the garage until you see a caged-in back verandah/patio with a terminal on it. The baseball bat is inside the cage on top of the wooden crates.

From the fast travel point, walk inside the clubhouse through the door in front of you. Walk down the stairs on your right. At the bottom of the stairs, turn left and follow the corridor to the end. Just before the locker room is another corridor on your right, turn down that corridor and follow it to the end. Keep following the corridor around, past the kitchen and the baseball bats are on the top shelf in the first broken display on your right.

From the fast travel point, turn right and follow the road all the way around until you get to the gate of The Whitesprings Resort. At the gate turn South and you will see a white 2-story house in front of you. Walk towards that house, through the gap in the brick fence, and towards the white ice box and green door. The baseball bat will be leaning against the wall opposite the ice box.

From the baseball bat location above; Face South and walk forward through the doorway and into the house. Keep walking forward until you hit a wall. Turn right, then left, and walk out the front door.
Still facing South, keep walking forward, past the white car and the fire station, until you are standing on the road. Turn left and follow the road, past a small blue car, an orange car, and a white car. In front of you should be another orange car with half a skeleton under the front of the car. The baseball bat is next to the skeleton.
Sometimes if you hit the car and it explodes, it can push the bat above ground enough to interact with.

From the fast travel point, walk straight up the road. On your left will be a white guard post building and a tree laying on top of a guard rail. Behind the tree is a short road and a chicken wire/chain link gate. Walk up to the gate and jump over it. Walk forward a few steps and then turn right so you are facing the main building. Walk past the picnic tables on your right and then turn and face West. Walk through the door in front of you. Keep walking forward and stop at the blue pillar that is next to some filing cabinets. Turn right and walk forward a few steps. There will be a bookcase on your left and the baseball bat is on top of the bookcase.

From the fast travel point, turn around and face South West. Keep walking forward and jump over the rock in front of you. Keep walking forward until you see a little boat on the edge of the lake. The baseball bat is in the boat with the skeleton.

From the fast travel point, face North and walk towards the blue ute/truck in the car park. Just in front of the blue ute/truck is a fence with a rail. Jump over the railing and you should be on a concrete path with a mirelurk. Walk down the path and head inside Uncanny Caverns.
Once inside Uncanny Caverns, follow the wood path down until you see “The Beautiful Uncanny Caverns” sign and photo booth on your right. Walk towards the photo booth and stand next to the yellow construction light. Face East and walk forward. There should be a grey spot light on the ground in front of you. The baseball bat is laying on the ground behind the spotlight.

From the fast travel point, walk straight until you are standing in front of the bus. Turn left and walk forward, jumping up onto the path. Walk forward a few steps until you are standing at the end of the wooden rail/fence. Look to your left and the baseball bat will be laying on the ground next to a souvenir sloth toy, baseball glove and baseball.

From the fast travel point, walk straight until you get to the boat. Turn Right and on the other side of the ute/truck is a picnic table. Stand on top of the picnic table with your back to the ute/truck. Walk straight forward and keep walking straight until you notice some cabins on your left. Go to the cabin in the middle and the baseball bat will be lying on the floor as you walk in the door.

From the fast travel point, walk straight and enter the relay tower. Inside the relay tower on your left, the baseball bat is in a drawer with a row of terminals against the wall.

From the fast travel point, face South and follow the road down until you are standing in front of the burnt out limo. To your left is a concrete path. Follow the concrete path straight and down the stairs until you are standing in front of a green truck. To your left will be a blue building and a door labelled "Security". Walk to that door (do not enter it) and follow the blue building around until you find the door labelled "Main Entrance". Enter this door.
Once you are inside, you will be facing a circular desk. Walk straight until you are standing next to the green couches against the back wall. Turn and face East and walk up the stairs. At the top of the stairs, face North and enter the room labelled "Boilers". Walk through the room and through the door on the other side. Walk down the stairs in front of you and stop at the blue weapons workbench. On your left is a hole in the wall.
Walk through the hole in the wall and forward a few steps until you are standing on a red, blue and yellow cat walk. Turn left and walk up the ramp. At the top of the ramp, turn and face South. Walk forward towards the wooden boxes and the baseball bat is laying on the corner behind them.

From the fast travel point, walk forward and take the road on your right. Follow the road around until you are standing in front of the white/grey truck with the blue trailer. Turn and face East. Walk forward and jump on top of the blue barrels, jump up again onto the cat walk and then one more jump up onto the roof. The baseball bat will be in front of you, on the far corner of the roof, leaning against the wall.

From the baseball bat location above; Turn around and jump back down so you are standing in front of the grey/white truck with the blue trailer. Turn and face South and follow the road straight. Go past the white/grey truck with the container on the back and keep following the road until you get to the end of the small wall/brick building. Turn and face West. You should be able to see a doorway in the brick building, under a large fan. Walk through the door and keep walking West-ish through another doorway. On your left, in the corner of the room is a desk and a skeleton. The baseball bat is behind the desk, against the wall.

Be careful when checking this baseball bat as you can accidently kick it underground.
From the fast travel point, turn and face South. Follow the road until you are standing at the broken end of the bus. Turn and face East and walk towards the large metal pylon. Stand on top of the car and look on the ground between the two back metal pylon legs. You should just be able to see a dead ghoul on the ground in the bushes. Carefully walk towards the ghoul and the baseball bat is on the ground (sometimes hiding in the bushes), next to the dead ghouls hand.

From the fast travel point, face East and follow the road around until you see a blue car on the right hand side of the road. Next to the car is a wood wall and the Free States logo/sign. Next to the logo/sign is a set of stairs and the baseball bat is on the stairs next to the body.

Walk down the stairs next to the mannequin
Face South and walk to the doorway in front of you
turn left and follow the path until you get to large brick opening
turn left, walk down the stairs and turn right at the bottom of the stairs
walk straight, up the stairs, turn right and walk up the stairs, walk forward and go down the stairs
turn left and walk forward. If you can see a sign with "Central", hanging from the roof, you are heading in the right direction
Keep walking forward until you hit a pile of rocks. Turn right and walk through the doorway opposite you. Turn left and go up the stairs.
Turn left at the top of the stairs and walk straight across the bridge. Keep walking straight and either jump down and take the stairs up or jetpack across the gap. Keep walking straight through the doorway at the end.
Follow the wooden path through the tunnel until you get to a room. There should be some red boats/kayaks on the wall in front of you.
Walk forward a few steps and stop at the little fence next to the yellow pole.
Turn around and face South-ish. There should be a small one foundation hut with an orange BBQ in front of you.
Jump on top of the hut and the baseball bat is in a broken display case against the back wall with a baseball and baseball glove.

Ideally you would have completed the Waste Management Questline or be searching after a daily ops to access this spawn location.
Location:
You will need lockpick to access this baseball bat.
From the baseball bat location above; Jump down back onto the floor.
Face North and walk straight through the doorway in front of you.
Keep running straight, going around pipes and obstacles while maintaining a straight path
Walk up the blue wood ramp and at the water/metal pipe, turn right and walk through the doorway in front of you.
There will be a doorway slightly to your right opposite you. Walk through that doorway and turn right
Walk straight forward into the water, turn right at the T junction and follow the water/tunnel around until you get to a doorway with can chimes hanging from it.
From that doorway, walk forward until you hit a brick wall. At the wall, turn left and follow the wall around until you are standing next to a table laying on it's side. Turn right and walk forward a few steps.
On your left should be a small caged room with some weapons on the wall and to your right there should be a cooking stove and a small pile of wood. If you see these then you are in the right place.
Keep walking forward until you see a doorway with a red light and a sign saying "Do Not Enter". Unlock the door using the key from the waste management questline (or it will already be open for ops) and walk forward.
Follow the tunnel (second left, first right, turn left, second left) until you see a grey metal door with "Pump Station" above it. You will need to interact with the terminal to unlock the door (turn the pipe value in the northern tunnel by following the tunnel on the right of the terminal).
Once you have opened the door, walk through it.
Take a few steps forward until you are standing in the middle of the room. Turn right and keep walking straight until you hit a red switch board with levers and gauges.
From there, turn and face North and head toward the cat walk that starts behind the red forklift. Facing North, you will see a cat walk ramp against the far wall. Follow the ramp up and all the way around until you get to a doorway.
Walk through the doorway and turn left. Walk straight until you see a ramp going down on your right. Follow the ramp down and turn right at the bottom.
Walk forward and take the stairs down on your right. At the bottom of the stairs, turn and face East.
On the far wall are some lockers. The baseball bat is in the second locked locker behind a level 1 lock with a baseball and a baseball glove.

From the fast travel point, run straight, past the red tractor and the tree with the strangler vines until you reach the house on your left. On your right in front of you is a broken shed with some hay bails in them. Head towards the shed. The baseball bat will be inside the shed, in the corner, in a pram/stroller.

From the fast travel point, face East and follow the road straight. Keep walking forward until you see two blue double doors. Enter either of those doors.
Once you have loaded in, turn right and walk until you hit a white marble wall. Follow the wall around, past the green trash can. Keep walking forward a few steps until you see a flower planter with some Wild Carrot Flowers growing in it on your right. Walk forward a few more steps and you will see a skeleton on the ground with the baseball bat in his hand.

From the baseball bat location above; Face South and keep following the wall around, past the water fountain until you get to the bottom of the escalator. Go up the escalator, walk around the pole on your right and face North. Directly in front of you is a doorway and a sign "Big Steve's sporting goods". Walk forward and through the doorway. Turn left and jump over (or walk around) the display case. Turn left again and the baseball bat is in the display case in the corner, against the back wall next to a wall safe.
Cranberry Bog

From the fast travel location, turn and face West. Walk straight until you get to the road. Turn right and follow the road until you get to the blue car that is falling into a crack in the road.
Jump down into the crack in the road so the blue car is on your right.
Turn and face South and you will see a tunnel under the road. Enter and follow the tunnel South, sticking to the right hand side of the tunnel. At the first fork in the tunnel, keep right. Slowly keep walking forward, looking at the ground. The baseball bat is on the ground, in the hand of a skeleton laying face down.

From the fast travel point, face East and walk forward into the building. Walk behind the counter and enter the elevator. Take the elevator up. Open the elevator door and walk out into the middle of the room. In front of you is a large window with a velvet rope queue in front of it. Follow the velvet rope queue around and the baseball bat is laying on the ground, in the hand of a skeleton, in front of the window.

From the baseball bat location above; Turn and face West. Jump over the velvet rope queue and turn right. Walk forward a few steps and go up the set of stairs on your right. At the top of the stairs, turn left, then turn right. Walk forward until you get to the nuka cola machine and turn left. Walk forward a few steps and then turn right. In front of you should be two windows with a chair at each window. Follow the wall on your right all the way around, past the chairs and the red couch until you are standing in front of a green clock. On your right is a doorway. Turn and enter the doorway. Facing West, follow the corridor around until you enter a small room. On your right will be 2 wooden desks and a pram/stroller. The baseball bat is leaning against the wall, in the corner, next to the second desk.

You will need hacker or lock pick cards to access this spawn location.
From the baseball bat location above; Turn around and walk back out of the room and stop in the doorway with the green clock on your right. Look East and you will see another doorway on the left hand side of the far wall. Walk through that door and keep walking straight until you are standing at the nuka cola machine. On your left is a set of stairs, walk up the stairs and keep walking up until you reach the top. At the top of the stairs, walk forward a few steps and then turn right. You should be looking at a door with a terminal on the wall next to it. Walk up and unlock the door (either with the terminal or lock pick).
Once you have opened the door, walk forward until you are standing at the desk. The baseball bat is in the broken display case on your left.

From the baseball bat location above; Face North and walk forward until you hit the wall. Turn left and unlock then walk through the door. Face West, on the wall opposite you is a bookcase and an ancient globe. To the left of the bookcase is a section of roof that has fallen down to form a ramp up to the next level. Walk over and walk up the ramp. At the top of the ramp, turn around (facing East) and you will see a door on the left hand side of the wall in front of you. Walk over and enter the door (it will say "Watoga Municipal Center when you interact with it). Once you have loaded in, don't move. Look down and slightly left. The baseball bat is on the floor, in the hand of a skeleton.

From the fast travel location, face West and walk straight. Enter the door in front of you with the sign "Watoga Civic Center" above it. Once you load in, turn right, walk straight and go through the door. Keep walking straight and follow the stairs down. At the bottom of the stairs turn right. Walk past the lockers and turn right again. Walk straight until you hit the wall then turn left. Walk forward until you hit the wall then turn right. The baseball is laying on the floor in front of you, next to a skeleton and 3 pieces of soap.

Big Bend Tunnel East/Riding Shotgun
Location:
From the fast travel point, face West-ish and head toward the "Blue Ridge Caravan Co." sign. Once you are standing on the path under the sign, follow the path forward and enter through the large wooden doors/gate.
Once you have loaded in, keep walking straight and follow the path until you see a blue barrel and a wooden ramp on your right. Face North and walk up the ramp. In front of you is a set of stairs. Walk up the set of stairs. At the top, take a few steps forward and the baseball bat is in front of you, leaning against the blue weapons workbench.

Location:
From the fast travel point, walk forward and drop down until you are on the ground level. Turn and face South and follow the rail/cart tracks around until you see a broken chicken wire/chain link fence and behind it is a blue metal door saying "Do Not Enter". Enter through that door.
Once inside, follow the rail/cart tracks forward a few feet. The baseball bat is laying on the ground, next to the dead BOS NPC.
